CNN —Former President Donald Trump filed yet another lawsuit against the news media late Monday, accusing ABC News and George Stephanopoulos of defamation over assertions the anchor made in a combative interview. Stephanopoulos asserted multiple times in the interview with Mace that Trump had “raped” Carroll. “You endorsed Donald Trump for president. How do you square your endorsement of Donald Trump with the testimony that we just saw?” Stephanopoulos asked Mace. Dismissing a countersuit months later, however, the judge in the case concluded that the claim Trump raped Carroll was “substantially true.”“Indeed, the jury’s verdict in Carroll II establishes, as against Mr Trump, the fact that Mr Trump ‘raped her’, albeit digitally rather than with his penis.

NEW YORK (AP) — Pornographic deepfake images of Taylor Swift are circulating online, making the singer the most famous victim of a scourge that tech platforms and anti-abuse groups have struggled to fix. Sexually explicit and abusive fake images of Swift began circulating widely this week on the social media platform X. The deepfake-detecting group Reality Defender said it tracked a deluge of nonconsensual pornographic material depicting Swift, particularly on X. Some images also made their way to Meta-owned Facebook and other social media platforms. “The images may be fake, but their impacts are very real," Morelle said in a statement.

Usually, when a child sells an animal at the county fair, some local macher buys it for more than its market value. All they were waiting for, apparently, was approval from the Shasta County district attorney. "More important for livestock producers is how the Shasta County Fair and the Shasta County sheriff — both unencumbered by intelligence — created a bonanza for animal rights zealots." Cedar was livestock, and many people can't even conceive that livestock like Cedar can be something more than food. Elon Musk says Grimes is trying to avoid Texas courts in their custody battle, court records show. Musk initially sued Grimes in Texas in September to "establish the parent-child relationship" with the three kids the pair share. She told a Texas judge in October that Musk had custody of their three-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii , over her objection. The outcome of that fight could have major consequences for Musk, thanks to the different child support caps in California and Texas. CEO Henry Ward cofounded Carta, originally called eShares, in 2012 as a service for startups to digitize their paper stock certificates. Today Carta helps startups track their investors, employees manage their equity awards, and venture capitalists administer their funds. Elon Musk's SpaceX sued the U.S. Department of Justice in a Texas federal court, as the company aims to stop the DOJ's hiring discrimination case on constitutional grounds. Unlike SpaceX's suit, filed in the Southern District of Texas, the DOJ suit was filed within a division of the agency that adjudicates immigration cases, a key point of contention in the company's response. "SpaceX has not engaged in any practice or pattern of discriminating against anyone, including asylees or refugees. SpaceX's suit names a trio of defendants, including U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. SpaceX's hiring tops the acceptance rates of even the most selective, elite U.S. colleges, as "only about 1% of applications result in a hire," according to the company.

Wright then filed a defamation suit against the former students, seeking $108 million in damages. Reuters/ReutersUltimately, Depp won $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages in his defamation case against Heard. And juries appear to be more receptive to ruling on behalf of defamation claimants, especially after big wins in cases like Depp's, Lovell told Insider. "By showing he's going through the legal system and going after them for $108 million dollars, it makes a statement," Lovell said about Wright's legal strategy. The lawsuit comes a week after Beast Investments sued Virtual Dining Concepts alleging that VDC had ignored the MrBeast Burger Brand. The reality is that the overwhelming majority of customers were highly satisfied, and the product was excellent," the VDC suit said.

Ms. Carroll brought her lawsuit in 2022 over conduct that predated his term, using a New York law that allowed adults a one-year window in which to sue over past sexual abuse. The jury awarded her $2 million for his misconduct as well as nearly $3 million for defamation. Mr. Trump, who is seeking to regain the presidency, had countersued in June, arguing that Ms. Carroll should not have continued to say that he raped her after the jury’s decision, and that her comments to CNN after the verdict sullied his reputation. The truthfulness of an assertion is a key component in a defamation case against a public figure. That trial, delayed by Mr. Trump’s arguments that he was protected by his position, is scheduled to begin in January.

The dispute comes down to licensing rights for professional sports league and their associated trading cards: Panini currently has the league and player union licenses to produce trading cards for the NBA and NFL. It's held those exclusive rights since 2009 and 2016, respectively. In its antitrust suit against Fanatics, Panini alleged that "Fanatics positioned itself to drive Panini and other potential competitors out of the market, and erected barriers to entry blocking their return." Fanatics claims Panini "embarked on a protracted, unlawful, and deceitful campaign of unfair trade practices, strong-arm tactics, and tortious misconduct to hamper Fanatics Collectibles' nascent business, in the hopes that it could force Fanatics Collectibles to pay an extortionate amount for Panini to terminate its licenses early." The move also helped to terminate a SPAC merger for Topps after it lost the MLB rights.

A judge ruled Friday that a lawsuit against Disney in Florida would proceed. The case relates to a legal loophole used by Disney to take back control of its operations in Florida. The park argued that the case is "moot" in state court because of a DeSantis law that voided development agreements Disney signed up to three months before the appointed board was created, PBS reported. The ruling marks another legal punch in the year-long fight between DeSantis and Disney. As a result, the newly appointed DeSantis board was stripped of its power.

"Oh yes he did, oh yes he did," Caroll said during a CNN interview on May 10, reiterating her allegation that Trump raped her. A day earlier, a jury in U.S. District Court Manhattan awarded Carroll $5 million in damages from Trump. Kaplan also said four out of the five statements Trump claimed were defamatory were made outside of New York's one-year statute of limitations. Kaplan called Trump's counterclaim "nothing more than his latest effort to delay accountability for what a jury has already found to be his defamation of E Jean Carroll." Trump's countersuit is the latest twist in a circuitous, multicourt legal battle over Carroll's allegation that Trump, 77, sexually assaulted her.

The banging on Tuesday first came every 30 minutes and was heard again four hours later, according to an internal government memo update on the search. The search for the missing submersible Titan has broadened to an area about two times the size of Connecticut. It was unclear when exactly the banging was heard Tuesday or how long it lasted, based on the memo. We have to keep working until we find the submersible,” Joyce Murray, minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, told reporters Wednesday. If the submersible is intact, the passengers would be dealing with dwindling oxygen levels and fighting cold, he told CNN.

New York CNN —Disney CEO Bob Iger said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ attacks on the company threaten its plans for $17 billion of investment and 13,000 new jobs at Disney World over the next 10 years. In comments Wednesday during a call with investors, Iger defended Disney as Florida attempts to wrest control of powers granted to a special taxing district overseeing Disney World’s zoning decisions. Iger did not mention DeSantis by name or explicitly say Disney is reconsidering its planned investment. Disney has for decades controlled a special taxing district that had the right to make zoning decisions in and around Disney World. A general view of Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World.
